Thoughtful Rebel Films Not your average movie. -Divisions of RichLan Entertainment- A hip-hop musical titled Peaceful Rhythms was the first production of RichLan Companies, LP. The thirty member cast and crew of the musical included the talents of Berklee School of Music graduates, an understudy of the Bring in the Noise Bring in the Funk cast, an award winning poet and the resources of community icons such as OrigiNation, Bridging Bridges, Concerned Black Men of Massachusetts, First Inc, Afrocentrics and Roxbury Community College. RichLan Companies also produced the first Black Man Think Tank in the New England area. Re-named RichLan Entertainment in 2005, this business partnership was created by wife and husband team Lanice L. Lumpkins - O’Bryant and Dr. Richard L. O’Bryant in 1996. Having been born and raised in Mission Hill and Mattapan respectively, Lanice and Richard have always given back to their beloved neighborhoods and the youth that live there. Richard attended the famed Elma Lewis Performing Arts programs as a child, and Lanice’s parents are singers and songwriters. Lanice and Richard both enjoy the arts and believe that there is a wealth of talent to be discovered and harvested within Boston’s urban neighborhoods. Richard teaches full-time at Northeastern University, and consults on a number of technology related projects in the New England area. Lanice dedicates her days to writing screenplays and providing script consulting services to local filmmakers while making her own films. BirthName Productions is located in Dorchester, where Lanice and Richard live with their two sons. |
